Client Manager, Brand & Positioning

We’re looking for a Client Manager who already operates with strong ownership, momentum, and follow-through. This role sits at the center of our client experience and is ideal for someone who is highly action-oriented, learns quickly, and takes pride in keeping work moving without needing to be chased.
The Client Manager partners closely with senior strategy leads and an account coordinator to keep projects on track, clients informed, and the process running smoothly. Success in this role requires curiosity, independence, and the confidence to move work forward, even when everything isn’t fully defined yet.
We can train on ZOOM’s methodology and process. What matters most is the client manager’s operating mindset: someone who takes initiative, closes loops, and treats responsiveness as part of delivering great client work.
Job Responsibilities
Own the success of client projects and operational heartbeat. This role sits at the center of our client experience. You help the team move efficiently, apply our proven process consistently and make sure the path from kickoff to rollout moves as smoothly as possible.
Client project management
Manage timelines, deliverables and meeting schedules across about 3-6 client projects per quarter
Update workplan as projects progress and scopes evolve
Coordinate internal and client meetings, agendas, prep materials and follow-up actions
Manage development of all client presentations and deliverables
Anticipate next steps and make sure the team and client always knows what’s coming next
Client communication
Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact, providing clarity, responsiveness and follow-through
Set and manage client expectations so there are no surprises
Draft weekly updates, follow-ups, meeting recaps and status notes
Send invites, summaries, recordings and presentation PDFs
Ensure clients feel supported and confident throughout the process
Positioning analysis and invention
Analyze competitor positioning to find themes and openings. Monitor competitor positioning throughout process to ensure ideas we’re testing remain distinct from competitors
Analyze and summarize client brainstorm themes and openings. Based on client brainstorm meetings, help invent the best positioning language. Prepare documents for team to review and client presentation
Analyze and summarize customer and prospect research for positioning themes and openings. Based on research, invent the best positioning language. Summarize for team and client
Research and production support
Manage preparation, review and QA project materials, including surveys, discussion guides, questionnaires and screeners
Provide air cover, hands-on guidance and support to the account coordinator while also creating the work alongside them
Coordinate customer interviews and prospect roundtables
Track progress, flag risks and package materials for internal and client teams
Sales & marketing operations
Join new business meetings, and prepare necessary follow ups to keep deals moving forward
Maintain accurate client info and deal updates in HubSpot
Contribute to marketing ideas and engagement
Manage and continually improve the operating systems that keep the agency running, including team and client communication, project management, and CRM
Who you are
You bring experience managing complex, client-facing work in a fast-moving environment and are comfortable owning multiple concurrent engagements from kickoff through delivery.
You’ve worked in B2B technology and/or agency settings and understand the pace, ambiguity, and expectations that come with serving high-expectation clients.
You’re a strong written communicator who can synthesize ideas clearly, draft thoughtful client communications, and represent the team with confidence and judgment.
You operate independently, anticipate what’s needed next, and bring a calm, organized presence to complex projects.
You’re collaborative, detail-oriented, and energized by helping teams do their best work.
You’re experienced with tools like Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, HubSpot, and SurveyMonkey.
You’re based in the San Francisco Bay Area for internal and client meetings.
Compensation and benefits
The salary range for this role is $95,000–$115,000, with compensation within that range determined by experience, scope, and demonstrated ability to operate independently in a fast-moving client environment, including:
Depth of experience in B2B technology and agency environments
Experience owning multiple complex client engagements
Strength of written communication and client-facing judgment
Ability to operate independently and anticipate what’s needed next

Employees are also eligible to participate in ZOOM’s 401(k) program following an initial employment period.
We operate with an honor-based personal time off system. Rather than tracking accrued vacation or sick time, employees take time off as needed, in coordination with their role responsibilities and team commitments. During the first year, employees are expected to take up to 10 days of vacation. Additional guidance is provided as part of onboarding.
ZOOM observes paid company holidays, including New Year’s Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. ZOOM typically closes for the days between Christmas and New Year’s at the principals’ discretion.
We also offer an annual bonus program. Bonuses are awarded based on overall company performance and an individual’s contribution to ZOOM’s success. We believe in sharing the success of the business when company and individual goals are met.
