There are things we learned in the focus groups that I think could have saved a year of my life if I had learned that earlier.

Client love

Fivetran founders George Fraser and Taylor Brown were referred to ZOOM by Snowflake CMO Denise Persson. George was both optimistic and skeptical about ZOOMing at first. How could an outsider help Fivetran stand out in a very noisy space, full of false promises? Through the ZOOM process, he was surprised to learn which messages were powerful and which failed with prospective customers.

Taylor knew the reason for ZOOMing was that everyone in the company was saying something different, resulting in up to 220 different elevator pitches. Because the process brought together the leadership team, he realized they now had the top alignment critical to success.

Since ZOOMing, Fivetran:

  • Raised $100M in series C funding, reaching unicorn status of $1.2B valuation

  • Raised $55M in series D funding, reaching a $5.6B valuation

  • Reached 1,600 customers, with more than 75% new customer growth

  • Was named to the Forbes 2020 Cloud 100
